Contributing Articles

Anyone can submit an article — here's how it works, and what the fields mean.

How It Works

Go to /admin and log in with your GitHub account — no special access required. You'll get a simple editor with Draft and Ready to Review columns. Write your article, move it to Ready to Review when it's done, and it becomes a real submission for a MeshTexas admin to look over.

Nothing you submit goes live automatically. An admin reviews every submission before it's published — so don't worry about getting something wrong, it won't reach the site until someone checks it.

Categories

  • How-To — setup guides, configuration walkthroughs, anything that helps someone do something with their device or the network.
  • Buildout / Infrastructure — updates on new repeaters, expanding coverage, or network changes.
  • Community — spotlights, partnerships, events, or anything about the people involved.
  • Announcement — site or policy changes, anything MeshTexas-wide.

Regions

If your article is about a specific area, tag it with that region's IATA code — the same codes used on the Connect page (SAT for San Antonio, AUS for Austin, and so on). You can tag more than one, or leave it blank if the article applies statewide.

One Thing to Know

The Host a Node section is managed by MeshTexas admins directly, not open for general submissions — if you have something for it, email us instead of submitting through /admin.
